First of all I find most hidden object games boring. Mysteries of the Undead - The Cursed Island was one of three I can actually think of that weren't. Why? . The plot was interesting and intriguing enough to keep you involved all the way to the end of the game. You were constantly given challenges to your logic and powers of observation and ingenuity. Also the game was not too short which can be so disappointing if it is all figured out in an hour's play time. There were so many new locations you didn't get bored. The interactive map beside the hint button showed when you opened a new location and gears showed when there was actions that needed to be done in that area so you didn't miss anything. The hint button helped you both within HOSs and within the game itself if you were unsure where to go next. The hidden object scenes were almost unique to most of these games. Once you removed objects from the scene they stayed gone. And you didn't come back to the scene to find it filled full of garbage, just what was there before. You usually only played the same hidden object scene area twice not like in some games. I felt the game developers showed the players some respect throughout the game but particularly in this area. The characters could have been more developed and what their jobs were as part of the team explained plus a little more dialogue would have helped to make you more attached to the characters. But in a way it felt like a first person game, it wasn't Eve who was playing it i was you, so if there was any problems it was having control over your character. There was some translation to English problems on some items which should have been caught by a proofreader but other than that I have nothing negative to say. The puzzles were unusual and interesting to solve. I love action, adventure and mystery games so I enjoyed the challenge of figuring things out. I got stuck a few times and wished there was a walkthrough but eventually I muddled my way through. By the time I finished the game I checked and there still was no complete walkthrough and though I have never done one in my life I was so impressed with this game I decided to do it. I made a walkthrough for Mysteries of the Undead - The Cursed Island. I have to ask readers how many games have you played that would move you to do all of that work? Probably not many.
